How Do I make Friends? when I don’t even like me, Why would anyone else like me?
As a wide eyed first year high school student I went from feeling like I had things figured out to being lost in every aspect of my life. I suddenly felt as though I had no friends and that perhaps the world would be better off if I didn’t exist at all.
The Bully Guard is my story of battling feelings of not belonging and of no worth. Standing only five feet tall and weighing in at less than 100 pounds, my large than life name of Brickman made me an obvious target for every bully. At a point where I was already feeling depressed and lost, outside forces were pushing me to the point of no return.
My story is based on actual events, from the bullying to the heroes that stepped in and taught me how to not only love me for who I was, but taught me to become greater. My hope is that The Bully Guard will do the same for you!
It does not matter if it is the trajectory of the human race or the future of an individual,
it only takes one person with a little courage to make a difference.

How do i get brick to come and speak at my school or community event?
Brickman’s favorite thing is to meet new people as he travels and shares messages of courage, hope and empowerment. He has spoken internationally at schools, churches, community events, corporate retreats, professional conferences and even to small groups. Always happy and willing to travel to have an adventure to meet new people, all you need to do is scroll down and fill out a request for speaking info and Brickman will contact you about the endless possibilities.
Where Can i go to see some of brick's keynotes?
While Brickman has some of his keynotes YouTube and social media, they are not easy to find. Brickman’s story is so personal, that he feels it should be saved in its entirety for a live audience. You can find parts of his story in several podcasts that he has been on, but the best way to hear Brickman’s story is to invite him to come and speak in your area.
Is brickman his real name? Where did the name come from?
Brickman (Brick) Shawn Allen was born into a family with a cowboy heritage, but even with that strong background the true origin of his name is a bit of a mystery. For many years, Brickman saw his name as a curse that made him a target. While all his siblings were given more common names, Brickman couldn’t understand why he was picked to be the odd man out. Today, Brickman will tell you that he loves his name and is one of the favorite things about himself. So much so that he named is three sons Rockwell, Bronco and Maverick, carrying on the tradition of strong names.
DID ALL THE THINGS IN THE BULLY GUARD REALLY HAPPEN TO BRICKMAN?
The Bully Guard is based on the actual experiences that Brickman experienced. In his telling of his story, Brickman tries to be as transparent and vulnerable as possible in the hopes that the reader can see the power in what he is sharing. From being bullied in high school, to being attacked in a home invasion in his early twenties that left him on life support, Brickman is a survivor. You may not realize it, but you are too!
